Just accept. Fighting does not change your situation, does it? You are still in it, and if you run – you have not changed. So, while fighting may seem natural and reasonable in the circumstances, ultimately it is not the answer. If we change, then the divine flow will, in good time, bring better circumstances. We have first to see ourselves and accept ourselves, and then walk forward.

This does not prevent you from looking about you with wide open eyes, using your intellect, exploring with wonder and excitement, the marvels of the created universe. Stretch your understanding to the limit, but the more you do so the more you become humble. It was Einstein who said, towards the end of his life, after an experience of spiritual insight: “I know now, I know nothing”.

There remains however, so much that we cannot know. Something sad happens in your family or to a near friend – and you begin to question “Why should this happen to me?” We do not know, & we cannot understand what God’s plans are.

Thy will be done, with my head at Thy feet and my heart joined to Thee…. O’ Lord I surrender, surrender and surrender…understanding nothing except that deep within my being I know that Thou art – and all is Thine.
